Two of these very small butterflies below was restlessly flying around in our courtyard. The 'tail' was odd but I thought they were Red-underwing Skipper. Which shows how wrong you can be - not even the correct family.
Roger Gibbons kindly pointed me in the right direction naming them Geranium Bronze, a species introduced from South Africe via Geranium plants and spreading north through France.
